The Winnipeg Jets are on the verge of their best scoring run in nearly three years after a career performance from centre Mathieu Perreault. Visiting the defensively challenged Dallas Stars on Thursday night gives Winnipeg an ample opportunity to continue that surge. The Jets look to score at least four goals in regulation in four straight games for the first time since their inaugural season in Winnipeg following the franchises relocation from Atlanta. Theyve scored at least four times in regulation for three straight games for the first time since April 6-11, 2013, and havent accomplished that feat in four in a row since Feb. 17-23, 2012. Perreault tied the franchise record for goals in a game, giving him 15 to go along with 10 assists in his last 24. He went without a goal in his first 19 games while registering just three assists. Lawries hit a career-high 12 home runs and was slugging .419 at the time of his injury. With Lawrie and Edwin Encarnacion both on the disabled list and no suitable replacements to be found, the established players who remain in the lineup are pressing and its part of the reason the offence is slumping. "I think thats been a big part of it right there," said hitting coach Kevin Seitzer. "With Brett Lawries intensity and passion and the energy that he brings not only to the lineup but to the dugout and the defence throughout the game, you know, we lost that. That was a big hit for us just from an energy standpoint. The guy plays with more heart or passion probably than anyone Ive ever been around."
