As the 2015 NFL playoffs enter the divisional round, TSN.ca presents stats and figures to know about the four matchups. Unstoppable force vs. Immovable Object When the Green Bay Packers host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, it will mark the first playoff game in NFL history between a team that went 8-0 at home (Packers) in the regular season and a team that went 8-0 on the road (Cowboys). The Cowboys have lost their last six road playoff games, while Green Bay’s five home losses since 2002 are the most in the NFL. History not on their side With their win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round, the Carolina Panthers became the sixth team in history to win a playoff game after .500 or worse season. All five previous teams to accomplish that feat lost their Divisional Round by an average of 20 points. The Panthers, who went 7-8-1 on the regular season, will play the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. Flacco passes Brady Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will break Tom Brady’s record for postseason starts in a quarterback’s first seven seasons when the two meet on Saturday. The game will mark Flacco’s 15th playoff start, and fourth against the New England Patriots. The Ravens are 2-1 in those games, all which were played in New England. Losing Record On Sunday, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will make his 24th postseason start, tying Brett Favre for second-most by a quarterback in the Super Bowl era. Manning is first all-time in postseason losses but can improve his playoff record to .500 with a win over the Colts. Decembers Best The Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks both enter Saturday’s contest after going a perfect 4-0 in the month of December. The two teams played lights out defence in the month, with the Seahawks holding teams to an NFL-low 8.3 points per game and the Panthers ranking second with 10.8 points allowed per game. Peyton against the Colts Peyton Manning, who won Super Bowl XLI with the Colts after the 2006 season, will face his former team. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Manning joins Ken Stabler as the only QBs to face a team in the playoffs that they previously won a Super Bowl with (Stabler won with the Raiders and played against them with the Oilers). Joe Cool Flacco has 10 playoff wins since being drafted in 2008, twice the amount of any other quarterback in that span. His seven road playoff wins and 11 road playoff starts are both NFL records. He has won five straight playoff games overall. Return to the Frozen Tundra The Green Bay Packers haven’t hosted a playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys since the storied “Ice Bowl” in 1967. The temperature for that game was listed at -13F (-25C) at kickoff with a wind chill of -48F (-44C). The temperature on Sunday is forecasted to be around 19F (-7C) at kickoff with a wind chill of 12F (-11). Super Bowl Hangover The Seahawks will look to snap an ugly drought for defending Super Bowl Champions on Saturday. The 2005 New England Patriots were the last Super Bowl champions to win a playoff game the following season. Those Patriots defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card round before losing to the Broncos one week later. Rubber Match Sunday’s game will mark the third meeting between current Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and ex-Colt Peyton Manning. The two have split their series to date, with the Broncos defeating Luck’s Colts 31-24 in Week 1 of this season. It was a solid week for the Canadian golfer and one from which hell take a great deal of confidence. "I felt like I was real close all week," he said after signing for a 1-under 71. "Obviously I dont think I was close enough to be contending for the championship right now but I felt like even today, if I capitalized on a few more of the putts, that I know I hit good ones but just didnt go in, I could have been right up there in the top 10 and in the mix." For Hearn, this week was the realization of a dream; an experience he always hoped hed one day enjoy first-hand rather than from his TV room. "Ive always loved watching this tournament on TV," he said. "Its kind of fun waking up first thing in the morning and just lying on the couch all morning and watching the British Open." He called this week a soft introduction to the Open as conditions were quite favourable. Other than Saturday, there wasnt much in the way of harsh conditions and even that only lasted for about six holes ffor Hearn.dddddddddddd It was ripe for scoring as the leaders showed. Hearns record in majors now is exemplary. He tied for 21st at last years U.S. Open at Merion, ended up tied for 47th at the PGA last August after flirting with the lead at the start of the week and now has a fine finish in the Open, which will add to his bank account and world ranking. "Im definitely getting better and I feel my game is tailored towards major golf," he stated. "I feel like Im a guy who can make a lot of pars when you need to do that. I enjoy these majors; the atmosphere is unbelievable. Its different than anything on the regular tour and its a lot of fun." Hearn will get plenty of atmosphere at his next stop, the Canadian major, the RBC Canadian Open. He will leave Liverpool along with a plane load of golfers and their families headed to Montreal and says despite a long week and a time change, hell be prepared. "We get kind of spoiled with the charter back," he said. "I think Ill be well rested by the time Thursday rolls around." Hell get his first look at Royal Montreal Monday morning when he tees off in a pro-am. ' ' '
